It is not surprising that the parish church of St. Peter in Heppenheim is popularly known as the "Cathedral of the Bergstrasse". With its imposing size, it clearly stands out from the surrounding town. When dusk falls, it is illuminated and put in a particularly pretty light. The skyscrapers and factories of Mannheim and Ludwigshafen can be seen on the horizon.
