In the foothills of the Himalayas, surrounded by dense jungle and high mountains, is a small village called Haidakhan. There I spent a few weeks in an ashram and participated in the daily life, rituals and meditation. One night I climbed a nearby hill where there is a temple in honor of the god Dattatreya. There was a new moon. Such a distance from civilization offered me a unique view of the Milky Way, which was exactly in line with the top of the temple.
