Trifels Castle is of historical interest because it was here that the English King Richard the Lionheart, was captured on his way back from Jerusalem. However, from a photographic point of view, it is also an extremely popular subject. All around there is a series of rocks, towers and viewpoints from which the impressive building can be photographed.
